Programs

The arrival of the Internet communication age has changed the operating paradigm for news organizations. Public Multimedia Inc. is enacting multiple programs to provide wide media exposure, using a variety of formats and distribution. All programs will continue to be held to the highest standards of accuracy and veracity already established in the new media world. We have chosen programs that complement one another and offer avenues to provide needed information.

Embedded Reporter Program

PMI assigns reporters to cover events in global conflict zones. These reporters may be embedded with US and allied military forces or unaffiliated. Initially, the embedded staff will be small, but participating journalists have been embedded in numerous assignments. PMI has military credentials and plans to dramatically increase the number of embeds it currently sponsors.

We anticipate primarily Internet based distribution for our articles. We are also actively seeking additional relationships and distribution with other media organizations. Ultimately, we believe that the content should find distribution in as many media outlets as can be supported.

News and Analysis Program

PMI also provides web-based daily reporting, news aggregation and analysis of The Long War, with content from open source intelligence and other credible sources. Current articles are linked widely in the blogosphere and PMI contributors are read by influential persons in politics and the media.

As with the embedded reporters program, the news and analysis program will likely find its primary distribution on the Internet.

Audio Webcasts Program

PMI will produce high-quality audio programs that focus on current affairs featuring interviews with globally-recognized experts. We will concentrate on less frequently covered topics that have been overlooked or suffer from a lack of coverage by news organizations, giving people a more complete view of the world today.

Multimedia Program

Our multimedia program provides educational and informational presentations, maps, slide shows and images. Overburdened news agencies are too often lacking in its graphic presentation of events in The Long War. The US government has devoted little effort to graphically explain the historical context of the conflict and the nature of the global, regional and local threats. There are few battle maps or al-Qaeda organizational charts available to both the professionals and the general public.

PMI contributors have helped produce presentations on military operations in Iraq, al-Qaeda major attacks, and high-value al-Qaeda targets killed or captured. The presentations were well received in the web, professional and media community, and were excerpted by several major news outlets.

The positive response to these presentations indicates there is a gap in necessary educational materials that PMI can fulfill.
